11-12 baseball All-Stars shell Glenburn, slam six Home Runs

Tuesday night in Glenburn, the Hampden 11-12 All-Stars baseball team put on a power show for the fans as they slugged six home runs and pounded out a total of 16 hits in their 17-3 four inning shelling of Glenburn in a District 3 All-Stars tournament opening game.

Matt Martin ripped the cover off the ball pounding three home runs good for six RBI's in the game. Also slugging the long ball was Colin Vidas, Jeremy Kelsey, and Joey Doyon. Martin, Vidas, and Kelsey hit back to back to back home runs in the Hampden 8-run second inning. Martin had a 3-run homer in the second, a 2-run homer in the third, and a solo homer in the fourth.

Vidas was the winning pitcher working all four innings. He allowed four hits, did not walk a batter, and struck out seven.

Hitting for Hampden was Martin (three HR, six RBI), Vidas (HR, single, RBI), Kelsey (HR, RBI), Doyon (HR, RBI), Matt Closson (double, single, two RBI), Sam Jordan (two singles, two RBI), EDan Good (single, RBI), Brandon Maillet (single, RBI), Michael Ward (single), Keegan Quigley (single), and Jack Barteaux (single).
